Originating from Oslo, Norway, the architectural and design firm Snøhetta has grown into an international practice, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Innsbruck and Singapore. Among Snøhetta's most influential architectural projects are the Oslo Opera House and their expansion of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This volume explores Snøhetta's humanistic approach to architecture, its transdisciplinary processes and its eclectic oeuvre from 1989 to the present. The 300-page fully illustrated book -- including preliminary drawings, plans, and full-color photographs -- is published in conjunction with a major exhibition of Snøhetta's work at the DAC (Danish Architecture Centre) in Copenhagen.

In 2013, the Serpentine Gallery in London presents Fischli & Weiss' first public sculpture in the United Kingdom, "Rock on Top of another Rock," installed in Hyde Park, near the Gallery. This work was undertaken in tandem with the duo's monumental rock project in Valdresflya, Norway, which was unveiled in the fall of 2012. The latter project was part of a nationwide effort by the National Tourist Routes in Norway, for which internationally renowned artists and architects have been invited to create works that dialogue with the Norwegian landscape, for each of the 18 roads spanning the country. Published to accompany this dual venture, this catalogue features essays by Patrick Frey, John Kelsey and Pernille Albrethsen as well as historical texts selected by the artists.

Statsinger's intricate compositions describe vast, ethereal worlds evoking the biological systems and cellular structures of plants, as if viewed under a microscope.
American painter Evelyn Statsinger (1927-2016) moved to Chicago from Brooklyn in the 1940s to attend the School of the Art Institute, where she became affiliated with the Monster Roster and received mentorship and support from notable Chicago figures including Katherine Kuh, Kathleen Blackshear and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Deeply informed by her impressions of the natural world, in 1972 Statsinger moved her Chicago studio to a rural 1890s schoolhouse in Allegan, Michigan. The remote property allowed Statsinger to closely observe nature in all its orders of magnitude. Evelyn Statsinger: Currents features Statsinger's paintings and drawings from the 1980s and '90s--a period in which she developed her most immersive and otherworldly compositions. It features an essay by curator Dan Nadel, color plates and a detailed biography on the artist. -
